Judgment Day 1

Every soul shall have a taste of death; and only on the Day of Judgment shall you be paid your full recompense

(The Family of Imran 3:185).

The Holy Qur’an contains not just dozens, but hundreds of references to Judgment Day. It is a concept of crucial importance for each person, for our everyday lives. God tells us again and again what will happen, and what the consequences will be for each and every one of us.

We will all be brought to judgment before God, and our Lord will treat each one of us with justice. On Judgment Day the Book of Deeds, containing all that we did, will be placed before us. Our every thought and all that we have hidden within our chests will be made manifest and taken into account by God.

And that which is (locked up) in (human) chests is made manifest

(Those that run 100:10).

To Allah belongeth all that is in the heavens and on earth. Whether ye show what is in your minds or conceal it, Allah Calleth you to account for it

(The Cow 2:284).

No one will be able to neither protect us from our own sins nor intercede for us. We shall be repaid for all our past Deeds, good or bad. Those who have faith and have done deeds of righteousness will have no fear.

Give this warning to those in whose (hearts) is the fear that they will be brought (to judgment) before their Lord: except for Him they will have no protector nor intercessor: that they may guard (against evil)

(Cattle 6:51).

Then, on that Day, not a soul will be wronged in the least, and ye shall but be repaid the deeds of your past Deeds

(Ya Sin 36:54).

But he who works deeds of righteousness, and has faith, will have no fear of harm nor of any curtailment (of what is his due)

(Ta Ha 20:112).

The Day of Judgment is vividly described as cataclysmic. The trumpet will be sounded, and the heavens will open, the sky cleft asunder. Violent commotions will shake the earth to its depths in utmost convulsion and the mountains will be uprooted and crushed, crumbled to atoms, and Graves will be opened.

The Day when they shall come forth in haste from their graves, as if racing towards a goal-post

(The Ways of Ascent 70:43).

One Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion. And the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down

(Folded in Garments 73:14).

Then:

Shall each soul know what it has put forward

(Folding Up 81:14).

In other words, when everything about the earth is destroyed, when everything about this physical life disintegrates, then we will know. Inwardly, all the old social behavioral patterns, our cherished habits, attachments, and our egos and selfishness will crumble into ruins, ruins as tiny as atoms, and be reconstituted into a new configuration. This upheaval and disintegration into total ruins continues. If we do not elevate from our physical level, and our spiritual realm is not developed, we will experience hell in every moment eternally.
